Agreeing to these terms

These terms apply when you use the Palos Verdes Estates Concrete website, ask us for an estimate or hire us for concrete work. By using the site or booking a job with us, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site or book work through it.

Your job will also have a written estimate or contract. If that document says something different from this page, the signed document controls for that job.

What we do

Palos Verdes Estates Concrete is a concrete contractor in Palos Verdes Estates, CA, and we work in Palos Verdes Estates and the cities around it. We pour and replace driveways, patios, sidewalks, pool decks, steps, retaining walls, footings, foundations and other concrete work. You can see the full list on our home page and read about our crew on our About page.

The descriptions on this site explain the work in general. What we'll actually do on your property is set by your written estimate or contract.

Estimates and pricing

We give free in-person estimates, and there's no pressure to book. An estimate is based on what we can see during the visit. Nothing on this website is a price quote or an offer.

Some conditions only show up once the old slab is out and we're digging, such as soft or wet subgrade, which is the soil the new slab sits on, along with buried roots, old concrete or pipes in the way. If we find something like that, we stop, show you what we found and get your approval in writing before doing extra work at extra cost.

An estimate is good for the time written on it, because material and delivery prices change. If your job needs a permit, you're responsible for checking with your city unless your contract says otherwise.

Scheduling, weather and cancellation

We schedule your pour once the job is booked and the site is ready. Concrete depends on the weather, so we may move a pour for rain, high heat or other conditions that would leave a weaker slab. If that happens, we'll tell you as soon as we know. A weather delay isn't a breach of these terms or your contract.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, call us at (424) 307-8097 or reach us through our contact page as early as you can. Once we've ordered materials or booked a concrete delivery, you may owe the costs we can't get back, as your contract describes. Nothing here takes away any right to cancel that California law gives you.

Your part of the job

Please give our crew clear access to the work area, move vehicles and belongings out of the way, and tell us about anything buried that we can't see, such as sprinkler lines, low-voltage lighting or private utility lines. We aren't responsible for damage to buried items that weren't marked or disclosed to us.

New concrete needs time to cure, which is the wait while it hardens and gains strength. We'll tell you when it's safe to walk on and when it's safe to drive on. Damage from using the slab early, or from people, pets or vehicles crossing it before then, isn't covered.

Payment terms

Your contract sets out what you pay and when, including any deposit. Unless it says otherwise, the balance is due when the work is finished.

If a payment is late, we may pause work and charge late fees or costs as your contract allows and California law permits.

Our workmanship and warranty limits

Your satisfaction, guaranteed. If something about our work doesn't look right, call us, and we'll come out, look at it with you and fix any problem caused by our workmanship. Any written warranty for your job is spelled out in your contract.

Concrete can crack even when it's built right. We cut control joints, which are grooves that give the slab a straight place to crack where it won't show much. Hairline cracks, small cracks along those joints, and slight differences in color or texture, especially in stamped or colored concrete, are normal and aren't defects.

We don't cover damage from earthquakes or other ground movement, tree roots, drainage changes made by others, chemicals, misuse, loads heavier than the slab was built for, or repairs done by someone else. Apart from what your contract says and what the law requires, we give no other warranties, express or implied. Information on this website is provided as is.

Limitation of liability

We're fully licensed and insured. To the extent California law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, such as lost use of your driveway or patio, and our total liability for a job is limited to the amount you paid us for it.

These limits don't apply to anything the law doesn't let us limit, including injury caused by our negligence.

Settling disagreements

If you have a problem with our work or a bill, tell us first. Most issues get sorted out with a phone call or a visit to the job.

If we can't settle it between us, we both agree to try mediation in Los Angeles County before going to court. Either of us can still use small claims court for disputes that qualify.

Governing law

California law governs these terms and any work we do for you. Any court case will be handled in the state or federal courts serving Los Angeles County, California.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, and the version on this page is the one that applies to your use of the site. Changes don't affect a contract you've already signed with us.
