Concrete driveway building in Palos Verdes Estates CA - a driveway that stays flat
Cracked, sinking or pooling driveway? We dig out, pack the base and pour a new slab sized for what you park on it.

I write your estimate in person
I come out to look at your driveway and write the estimate myself, and our crew does the forming, pouring and finishing while I'm by the site as the job goes. The person who priced it stays close to the work.
In business since 2013
I learned under an old-school finisher who'd make me pull my forms and set them again if they were off at all. I started this business in 2013, and I still check our forms before we pour.
Proof of license and insurance on request
We're fully licensed and insured, and if you'd like to see the paperwork, just ask at the estimate. When you're ready, call (424) 307-8097 or send the form, and I'll come out to look at your driveway.
Concrete driveway building in Palos Verdes Estates
For us, building a concrete driveway in Palos Verdes Estates means pouring and finishing a new flat slab that slopes toward the street and away from your house and garage. It's for homeowners whose old driveway is cracked, sinking or pooling water, or who need one where there isn't one.
The price mostly comes down to size, how thick the slab is, whether it gets steel and how much digging the base needs, and tearing out an old driveway adds to it. Work out at the street and a decorative finish raise it too. Your own number comes from the estimate, once I've seen the ground and how the driveway meets the street.
The schedule turns on two things you can't rush. If the job touches the street or changes how the front of your property looks, approvals come first, and we start once they're in hand. Then there's curing, the wait while new concrete hardens enough to take weight. One driveway guide says to give it at least a week before you drive on it, so plan somewhere else to park for that stretch.
Driveway building, from the base out to the street
Sized for what parks on it
Before I put a price on anything, we talk through what's going to park on your driveway, because that sets how thick the slab is and whether it gets rebar, steel bars laid inside it. Steel matters most under heavy traffic, and it won't keep a crack from forming, but it holds one tight if it does. We cut control joints, shallow grooves that tell the slab where to crack, early enough that it doesn't pick its own spots. A concrete patio next to it only carries feet, so we size that one separately.
The base comes before the finish
When a budget gets tight, the base is the last place I'd cut, because nobody sees it once we pour but it decides whether the slab stays flat. We dig out to the subgrade, the soil the slab sits on, and pack it rather than rake it level, then check where your water runs. Moving soil can lift, tilt or shift a driveway, and where the soil swells, one guide calls for a crushed rock base, deeper the more it swells. A plain broom finish, a light texture for grip, costs less than stamped concrete, so save there.
Where your driveway meets the street
I look hardest at the end of the driveway, where it meets the street, because that's where questions from the city and the Palos Verdes Homes Association come up. Most of the public strip along streets here isn't fully paved, so your property line may not sit at the pavement's edge, and the city points owners to the Homes Association or a registered land surveyor to find it. If your plans change how the property looks, the association's Art Jury reviews them, and we'll help you get that paperwork ready.

I come out and look
After you call or send the form, I come out to see the ground, the slope and how your driveway meets the street, and to hear what you'll park on it. We go over thickness, steel and the base, and I write up your estimate.
Approvals, then base and forms
Once you're ready, we sort out any permits and Homes Association steps the job needs. Then our crew digs out, packs the base and sets the forms, and I check those forms before anything gets poured.
Pour, finish and a walk-through
We plan the pour around the midday heat, which can leave a weak, dusty top, and our crew finishes the surface while I'm on hand. At the end I walk the driveway with you and go over when it's ready for your car.
Driveway questions we hear in Palos Verdes Estates
How thick should a concrete driveway be in Palos Verdes Estates?
A 5-inch slab is a lot stronger than a 4-inch one for a modest rise in price, since the extra inch adds about 20% to the concrete cost and nearly 50% to the weight it can carry. Heavier vehicles, like a work truck or a motorhome, make the case for the thicker slab.
How much does a concrete driveway cost in the Los Angeles area?
A concrete driveway in the Los Angeles area usually costs about $4.50 to $10 per square foot. That's what the work generally runs around here, not our price, and where yours lands turns on the choices above. I'll write a price for your own driveway when I come out to look at it.
Do I need a city permit for a driveway near the street?
You do if the work puts anything on public property or the right-of-way along the street, because the city's Public Works Department issues the permit. If what you want there is nonstandard, the Planning Commission has to approve it before the permit is issued. We handle the permit and inspections, and check with the city when we're unsure what applies.
What license should a concrete driveway contractor have in California?
Look for a C-8 license, California's class for concrete contractors, which covers pavement and flatwork, the flat slabs like driveways. The state exempts only minor jobs under $500, labor and materials included, that aren't part of a larger project. Most Public Works permits in the city also need a city business license and proof of insurance, so ask for both.
